Welcome to Classic Central.  The countdown is on ‘til the 2011 Turkey Day Classic and our huge Hornet
Homecoming.  
The Granddaddy of Them All, the Turkey Day Classic is the nation’s oldest black college
football competition.  
The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers will meet the ASU Hornets on the
gridiron on Thursday, November 24th at 3 p.m. at Cramton Bowl

Turkey Day Classic

Rich with more than 80 years of fierce competition, the oldest football rivalry among Historically Black Colleges and
Universities, the Turkey Day Classic brings alumni, friends and family to Montgomery each year to celebrate an exciting
gridiron battle between the Alabama State University Hornets and the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers.

The Turkey Day Classic attracts tens of thousands of fans from across the nation in a spirit of camaraderie to enjoy
homecoming festivities and celebrate Thanksgiving.  Whether they are devout Hornets or committed Golden Tigers, all
enjoy re-newing friendships, gathering with family members, seeing old classmates and rooting for their team.

When reflecting on the dynamic history of this revered tradition, it is evident that those who founded and developed these
sister institutions had a clear vision of excellence, both on and off the field.  The success that Alabama State University
and Tuskegee University enjoy today, academically and athletically, is a direct result of the efforts of past and present
alumni, friends and supporters.
